Learning outcomes

Diploma Thesis is carried out by individuals and solely by undergraduate students. It is an undergraduate level study of an scientific research subject, which is placed at the entry level of a specific research area of the Mathematics science. The study is contacted under the supervision of the Supervisor Professor, and is based on existing research. The student makes use of the knowledge one acclaimed during ones studies, in order to carry out the research in a composing and scientific way.

The goal is for the undergraduate student, under the guidance of the Supervising Professor, to gain critical thinking abilities, composing thinking and the ability to analyse a subject in a scientific and strictly mathematical way.

After successfully participating in the course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify and handle basic notions, methods and techniques, which are related to the subject under study.
  • Understand the importance of the subject under study and the connections to related subject fields.
  • Make use of the knowledge one has, as well as the bibliography, in order to reach to scientific conclusions.
